Counseling FAQ's
Q: Who are your counselors? What credentials do they have?
A: Our counseling staff includes Karen Sabataso, Gail Porter-Beckley, Brad Young, Kitty Canfield, and William Kelley. The counselors have various levels of training and credentials, but all have either a Masters degree or a doctorate and appropriate licensure or licensure candidacy status. All have years of experience helping people and use clinically successful forms of treatment only. In other words, these are real therapists with real training and real-world success in helping people.

Q: What do you charge for a session?
A: Our rate is $60/session. In some cases, we are able to offer a sliding scale fee. Please speak with each therapist directly for more information.

Q: Do you accept health insurance?
A: Some of our counselors do accept insurance. Please check with the counselor you are working with to see which, if any, insurances are accepted. Currently, some of our counselors accept MVP and Blue Cross. Cigna will often reimburse you for our sessions. For those without health insurance, or for those with a different insurance or for those who do not want to go through their insurance company for confidentiality reasons, we have set our session price at an afforable rate. In some cases, the counselor may be able to accept a sliding scale payment. As noted above, please speak directly with each therapist for more information.

Q: How do you know if you need counseling?
A: Any time there is something that is bothering you and it affects your life in some meaningful way, counseling may be in order. If you are having trouble sleeping, eating, maintaining social connections, noticing addictive patterns, or you are having trouble keeping up with home, work, or school responsibilities, these may be signs that you should seek help.

Q: How confidential are your sessions?
A: We uphold the ethics of our profession completely and provide completely confidential sessions. The only reason we break confidentiality is if you tell us that you are going to hurt yourself or someone else. Otherwise, you can feel free to tell us anything and it will stay between us. We also comply with all federal regulations on the confidential storage of records.
